Universal De luxe Zig Zag Sewing Machine

In what I am sure to be my least interesting post ever, I just picked up a new sewing machine that I am actually pretty excited to get into service. It's a Universal De Luxe Zig Zag MZB.

I'm mostly firing on a Consew 226, but I need a smaller workhorse to handle all the little bits and whatnot better than my other one, which is missing pieces and the Singer CE-200 which I only want to use for embroidery. I hope this will do it well.

I love the details on this machine, the fact that it'll share parts with my other domestic machines and that I got to save it from the metal recycling bin.
These are photos as it arrived in my garage, but I'll post more when it is cleaned up and tuned .

I scanned the manual last night. I'd rather not tear the already flimsy paper version and I can read it on my computer now!

I just came across the same sewing machine that I received when my Great Grandmother died. Can you tell me what year this machine is from?

Thanks, I have a different Universal Model then the MZB, it is a Sax-2. I have been looking for 2 days to find a printable manual or something to show me what and how to use the different knobs. This helps alot.

I have the same machine--recently acquired. Finally have a machine that can sew garment weight leather.

Can anyone give me info about the lightbulb needed? Mine is missing

I was amazed after reading your post. I know you're really good at describing it. And I do hope that after reading your post, other readers will also experience how I feel.
